A Descent into the Heart of the Earth
As they enter the Pavilion, visitors are drawn into the depths of the earth—into the subterranean landscapes of Alsace. Like roots weaving through layers of rock, they explore the richness of these underground terroirs.
Then, a fissure opens to reveal a sunlit chamber. Suspended within it, large golden droplets shimmer, evoking the liquid gold of Alsatian wines. In time with the pulses, the space reveals a shared table—a symbol of conviviality and the French art de vivre.
This installation, created by GSM Project and Justine Emard with the patronage of Vins d’Alsace, tells the alchemical story of transformation: earth, sun, water, and vine come together with human expertise to give birth to a nectar that nature alone could not create
